Some Natural Remedies for Tinnitus

Have you ever felt as if that ringing in your ears will never go away? Going through every day with that kind of constant distraction can really affect your quality of life, but there are plenty natural remedies you can try to obtain some quiet, and most of these can be done from the comfort of your own home.

But first there’s something you need to keep in mind: not all natural treatments for tinnitus are universal, and it depends on your individual conditions. In some cases tinnitus can even be a symptom of another underlying health issue, which means you need to first treat that condition before concentrating on the tinnitus. One thing you can do is improve your lifestyle if it’s too hectic, try to reduce stress, exercise regularly and eat healthily, it can do wonders for your body in general.

Now for the natural treatments, here are a few that you can try:

  • Eating fresh pineapple frequently can reduce inflammation.
  • Include plenty of garlic, kelp and sea vegetable in your diet.
  • Gingko biloba helps reduce dizziness and improves hearing loss related to reduced blood flow to the ears. Put 20 to 40 mg of in your ears for four to six weeks, this will dilate blood vessels and increase blood flow to the ears.
  • Bayberry bark, burdock root, goldenseal, hawthorn leaf and flower and myrrh gum purify the blood and counteract any infection that might cause tinnitus.
  • For ringing sounds in the ears, mix 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of glycerin in a pint of warm water. Use a nasal spray bottle to spray each nostril until the solution starts to drain into the back of the throat. Spray the throat too. Do this three times a day.
  • Avoid saturated fats, dairy, sugar, salt, processed foods as these can make the condition worse. Also avoid coffee, tea, sweets and refined alcohol because they will result in low blood sugar which can lead to tinnitus.
  • Include lots of fresh and raw fruit and veg in your diet. Eat foods that contain protein and take plenty of vitamin A, B, E, zinc and choline.

Some people have found relief from these remedies and others have felt better after acupuncture, therapy, magnets hyperbaric oxygen or hypnosis. It’s just a case of choosing what’s best for you.
